La Uni\u00f3n Teol\u00f3gica Cat\u00f3lica (CTU) en Chicago fue fundada en 1968 por tres institutos religiosos, incluyendo a los pasionistas, que quer\u00edan colaborar en la formaci\u00f3n de ministros a la luz del Concilio Vaticano II. La idea era crear una facultad vibrante, acad\u00e9micamente fuerte y dedicada a su misi\u00f3n de acoger a hombres y mujeres de varios institutos religiosos y vocaciones laicas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre los alumnos notables de la CTU se encuentra el cardenal Robert Prevost, OSA, ahora Papa Le\u00f3n XIV, quien obtuvo su t\u00edtulo de Maestr\u00eda en Divinidad en la CTU en 1982 y fue ordenado al a\u00f1o siguiente.

Desde su fundaci\u00f3n, la CTU ha sido un recurso vital en la formaci\u00f3n de sacerdotes, hermanos y laicos pasionistas.

Arraigada en la rica tradici\u00f3n de la educaci\u00f3n teol\u00f3gica cat\u00f3lica, la CTU proporciona un ambiente vibrante, diverso y con mentalidad global donde los pasionistas y otros que comparten la misi\u00f3n de proclamar el Evangelio se preparan para vidas de servicio, predicaci\u00f3n y compasi\u00f3n.

El presidente actual de la Uni\u00f3n Teol\u00f3gica Cat\u00f3lica, P. Enzo Del Brocco, CP, <\/strong>es el tercer sacerdote pasionista en ocupar el cargo, siguiendo los pasos del Padre Paul Bechtold, CP, y del Padre Don Senior, CP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una misi\u00f3n com\u00fan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Desde la fundaci\u00f3n de CTU, los Pasionistas de la Provincia Santa Cruz le han confiado la formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica y pastoral de aquellos llamados a servir seg\u00fan el carisma y vida pasionista. La misi\u00f3n de la CTU de preparar l\u00edderes eficaces para la Iglesia en el mundo moderno se alinea integramente con el compromiso pasionista de predicar la memoria de la Pasi\u00f3n de Jesucristo y ministrar a los crucificados de hoy.
