{"id":11430,"date":"2026-03-09T00:36:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T05:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/?p=11430"},"modified":"2026-02-26T14:34:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T20:34:56","slug":"a-ministry-of-presence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2026\/03\/09\/a-ministry-of-presence\/","title":{"rendered":"A Ministry of Presence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-button-group stk-block-button-group stk-block stk-eb87af6\" data-block-id=\"eb87af6\"><div class=\"stk-row stk-inner-blocks stk-block-content stk-button-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-button stk-block-button is-style-ghost stk-block stk-4b3e441\" data-block-id=\"4b3e441\"><style>.stk-4b3e441 .stk-button{background:transparent !important;}.stk-4b3e441 .stk-button:hover:after{background:transparent !important;opacity:1 !important;}:where(.stk-hover-parent:hover,  .stk-hover-parent.stk--is-hovered) .stk-4b3e441 .stk-button:after{background:transparent !important;opacity:1 !important;}.stk-4b3e441 .stk-button:before{border-style:solid !important;}<\/style><a class=\"stk-link stk-button stk--hover-effect-darken\" href=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2026\/03\/09\/la-presencia-es-un-ministerio\/\"><span class=\"stk-button__inner-text\">Leer en Espa\u00f1ol<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almsgiving for me is not simply a Lenten practice but a way of life I have come to call a Ministry of Presence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the ways I practice almsgiving is in following Jesus\u2019 call as found in Matthew 25:36, for I was in prison\u2026 and you visited me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each month I visit the local women\u2019s prison, where I give my time and heart through prayer, lectio divina, and deep listening to the stories, struggles, and hopes of the women there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the barbed wire and concrete, sacred ground is formed as dreams are spoken and faith is shared. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This ministry humbles me and continually reshapes me as a disciple of Jesus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, we celebrated with K as she prepared for release after two and a half years, filled with both joy and anxiety as she looked forward to reuniting with her infant son.
