In particular, we stand with and for immigrants in the United States, who are too often treated with disrespect and cruelty, without regard for their rights or human dignity, or even the rights granted to them by U.S. law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-subtitle stk-block-subtitle stk-block stk-35475a1\" data-block-id=\"35475a1\"><style>.stk-35475a1 {margin-bottom:44px !important;}.stk-35475a1 .stk-block-subtitle__text{font-size:1.8em !important;color:var(--theme-palette-color-2, #7b272c) !important;line-height:1.3em !important;font-weight:normal !important;font-style:italic !important;font-family:\"ct_font_prensa\", Sans-serif !important;}@media screen and (max-width:999px){.stk-35475a1 .stk-block-subtitle__text{font-size:1.8em !important;}}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-subtitle__text stk-subtitle has-text-color\">We are deeply moved and outraged by the \u201csorrows\u201d inflicted upon them, as if mistreatment were the solution to the country&#8217;s immigration problems.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 16, 2026, the General Council of the Adrian Dominican Sisters and Associates issued a statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cdecrying the practice of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers capturing and detaining children and calling on the Trump Administration to put an end to this inhumane treatment of the most vulnerable in our society.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/adriandominicans.org\/News\/statement-of-adrian-dominican-sisters-decrying-trump-administrations-inhumane-apprehension-and-detention-of-children\">Statement of Adrian Dominican Sisters<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 24, 2026, a group of 18 American Catholic bishops issued a statement&nbsp;recommending reforms to immigration enforcement in the United States:&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe speak out as pastors in border states and beyond concerned about the impact of the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s (DHS) recent and ongoing immigration enforcement activities against individuals and families who are without legal status in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"http:\/\/Statement of Group of United States Bishops\">Statement of the US Catholic Bishops in Border States and Beyond<\/a> [PDF]<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women and men of faith, religious leaders, ministers and educators are speaking out. Immigration reform is needed.
