El 24 de julio, los pasionistas conmemoramos al Beato Nic\u00e9foro D\u00edez Tejerina, CP<\/a>, y sus veinticinco compa\u00f1eros m\u00e1rtires de Daimiel, que dieron su vida durante la guerra civil espa\u00f1ola en lugar de abandonar su fe o su vocaci\u00f3n pasionista.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Su martirio no es recordado porque quer\u00edan ser martirizados, sino porque, ante el odio y la violencia, permanecieron fieles a Cristo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una perp\u00e9tua memoria en la provincia Santa Cruz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Esta conmemoraci\u00f3n tiene una conexi\u00f3n especial con los pasionistas de la provincia Santa Cruz. Antes de su ordenaci\u00f3n, el P. Nic\u00e9foro fue asignado a la parroquia pasionista en Toluca, edo. de M\u00e9xico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando la persecuci\u00f3n religiosa oblig\u00f3 a los seminaristas extranjeros a abandonar el pa\u00eds, el joven Nic\u00e9foro fue enviado a Chicago en 1914. All\u00ed, complet\u00f3 sus estudios mientras viv\u00eda en el antiguo retiro de la Inmaculada Concepci\u00f3n, y fue ordenado sacerdote en Chicago el 17 de junio de 1916. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, regresar\u00eda a Espa\u00f1a, donde finalmente dar\u00eda su vida como un m\u00e1rtir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Moradores del Calvario\"<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

En la d\u00e9cada de 1930, los pasionistas en Espa\u00f1a tuvieron que soportar los asaltos a su libertad y sus vidas durante la Guerra Civil Espa\u00f1ola. Uno de estos episodios de violencia antirreligiosa tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Daimiel, en la noche del 21 al 22 de julio de 1936.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mientras hombres armados rodeaban el monasterio, el P. Nic\u00e9foro reuni\u00f3 a la joven comunidad pasionista ante el Sant\u00edsimo Sacramento para lo que sab\u00edan que podr\u00edan ser sus \u00faltimos momentos vivos y juntos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No ofreci\u00f3 falsas seguridades. En lugar de ello, los encomend\u00f3 a aquel que ya hab\u00eda pasado por el camino del sufrimiento:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Getseman\u00ed, \u00e9ste es nuestro Getseman\u00ed. Conturbada ante la fat\u00eddica perspectiva del Calvario, como la de Jesucristo, tambi\u00e9n nuestra naturaleza, en su parte d\u00e9bil, en su parte flaca, desfallece, se acobarda...Pero Jes\u00fas est\u00e1 con nosotros. Yo os voy a dar al que es fortaleza de los d\u00e9biles....Dentro de pocos momentos, estaremos con Cristo....Moradores del Calvario, \u00a1\u00e1nimo!, \u00a1a morir por Cristo.!\"<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Vivir el valor de los m\u00e1rtires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sus palabras todav\u00eda nos hablan hoy. Si bien a pocos de nosotros se nos pedir\u00e1 que demos nuestras vidas como m\u00e1rtires, todos encontramos momentos en los que la fe es puesta a prueba por el miedo, la incertidumbre o el sufrimiento. El beato Nic\u00e9foro nos recuerda que la valent\u00eda no es ausencia de miedo, sino confianza en que Cristo permanece con nosotros, incluso en nuestro propio Getseman\u00ed.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
