letting it open our eyes to the crucified of today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technologies we hold in our hands are sustained by&nbsp;a hidden cost borne by the poor and by the Earth: water drawn and contaminated, minerals torn from the&nbsp; ground by the hands of children, land stripped of life, the very sky crowded and clouded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In each station we look upon Christ crucified, and we learn to recognize his face in those who suffer that cost unseen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To&nbsp; The sentence is passed not by open malice but by procedure, expediency, and the refusal to look the condemned in the face. So it is still. Verdicts fall on distant communities and on creation itself through decisions made in markets, in code, and in policy\u2014 judgments with no face to confront and no one willing to own them. The digital \u201ccloud\u201d appears weightless, yet its true weight\u2014of water, power, minerals, and land\u2014is real, and it is laid upon shoulders far from our own: the miner, the host community, the warming river, the exhausted aquifer. The Earth, too, is buckling under demands it was never meant to bear. In towns where the cloud has settled, wells turn muddy and water carries poison; families can no longer drink from their own taps. Clean water enters the machine; usable water does not return. In that gaze we see every mother who watches her child suffer: the mothers of children sent into the pits, the mothers whose children drink contaminated water, the maternal Earth, our common home, wounded in bearing us.
