Solo necesitas leer el primer cap\u00edtulo de esta carta para saberlo. All\u00ed dice: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Hermanos, tengan en cuenta qui\u00e9nes son los que han sido llamados: no hay entre ustedes muchos sabios, hablando humanamente, ni son muchos los poderosos ni los nobles. Al contrario, Dios eligi\u00f3 lo que el mundo tiene por necio, para confundir a los sabios; lo que el mundo tiene por d\u00e9bil, para confundir a los fuertes; o que es vil y despreciable y lo que no vale nada, para aniquilar a lo que vale. As\u00ed, nadie podr\u00e1 gloriarse delante de Dios<\/em> <\/p>\n<cite>1 Corintios 1, 26-29<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pablo sabe que la gente a la que predicaba y las personas que respond\u00edan a su mensaje del Evangelio eran gente com\u00fan, y s\u00ed, hasta prostitutas y transgresores de leyes, como les recuerda en el cap\u00edtulo 6. Alguna vez fueron una comunidad ferviente de fe. Pero luego se desviaron. Ahora estas personas estaban viviendo conscientemente un doble est\u00e1ndar, vidas de pr\u00e1cticas ilegales y pecaminosas y a\u00fan practicando su fe como si su mal comportamiento no importase. Tal vez pensaron que estaban enga\u00f1ando a Dios, pero no enga\u00f1amos a Dios. As\u00ed que Pablo les recuerda esa verdad muy antigua: Dios no ve como los humanos ven. Sin embargo, Pablo tiene esperanza para los peores infractores, porque dice en 5:6 que todav\u00eda hay esperanza de que se salvar\u00e1 su esp\u00edritu en el D\u00eda del Se\u00f1or (1 Cor 5,5). Qu\u00e9 maravilloso equilibrio entre una cr\u00edtica dura del mal comportamiento y una creencia amorosa y compasiva en un Dios de misericordia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bfEst\u00e1 Pablo hablando con la gente de su \u00e9poca o est\u00e1 hablando con nosotros?  \u00bfNos est\u00e1 diciendo como individuos y, especialmente, como comunidad: Aspiren a los dones de Dios m\u00e1s excelentes?  \u00bfEstamos satisfechos con vivir en dos mundos tan diferentes entre s\u00ed, que nos hemos vuelto impotentes? Nos hemos vuelto ciegos y sordos a las injusticias de nuestra sociedad, a los gritos de los que sufren y de los moribundos, y nos hemos paralizado ante una respuesta cristiana adecuada? S\u00e9 que a veces me siento as\u00ed.<em>to strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts<\/em>?\u201d Are we content with living in two worlds that are so different from one another, that we have become powerless? Have we become blind and deaf to the injustices of our society, to the cries of the suffering and the dying, and have we become paralyzed to a proper Christian response? Se nos est\u00e1 pidiendo ser un pueblo valiente.
