{"id":1871,"date":"2025-04-23T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2025\/04\/23\/daily-scripture-april-4-2024\/"},"modified":"2025-04-23T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T01:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-april-4-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2025\/04\/23\/daily-scripture-april-4-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, April 24, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Apr-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33296\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/042425.cfm\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/042425.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acts 3:11-26<br>Luke 24: 35-48<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Easter Octave:&nbsp; \u201cPeace Be With You\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In almost all his Resurrection appearances, Jesus greets his disciples with \u201cpeace.\u201d &nbsp;He seems eager to dispel any fear in their hearts\u2026and when you think about it, without faith we humans have reason to fear.&nbsp; Illness, injustice, economic uncertainty, loneliness, violence, hunger, etc.:&nbsp; realities all too common in today\u2019s world, just as they were in the time of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The risen Jesus shows us that we have no reason to fear either the present or the future.&nbsp; In His life, death, and resurrection, He triumphed over sin and death.&nbsp; In his life-long ministry of teaching, preaching, and healing, Jesus revealed that He has fulfilled the promises God made throughout Old Testament times.&nbsp; Such was the point St. Peter wanted to make in his sermon to the crowd in Solomon\u2019s Portico that is our first reading today.&nbsp; We in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century can thus be confident that both we and our world are in the loving hands of God\u2026there\u2019s no reason to fear\u2026have faith!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus\u2019 words \u201cPeace be with you\u201d to His early disciples are not an empty, casual greeting.&nbsp; They express the great gift of God\u2019s \u201cshalom\u201d which can dissipate all fear from our lives and embolden us to witness in word and deed God\u2019s unconditional love for our needy world.&nbsp; Are we women and men of Jesus\u2019 peace?&nbsp; Do we radiate that Christ-centered peace in the 1,001 details of modern life\u2026at times with our lips, often with our lives?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century Easter People, \u201calleluia\u201d is our song; Jesus\u2019 gift of peace adds a richness to that song which invites the world to sing along.&nbsp; As the words to an old soft drink advertisement stated:&nbsp; Let\u2019s teach the world to sing\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fr.
