{"id":1891,"date":"2025-04-03T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2025\/04\/03\/daily-scripture-april-4-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-04-03T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T01:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-april-4-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2025\/04\/03\/daily-scripture-april-4-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, April 4, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Apr-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38182\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/040425.cfm\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/040425.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wisdom 2:1a,12-22<br>John 7:1-2,10,25-30<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201c\u2026they were trying to kill Him\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus came to our world with a living message of unity, forgiveness, hope and unconditional love \u2013 His life both a gift from God and a challenge to contemporary people!&nbsp; His preaching, teaching, signs and miracles came to be seen not as a means to personal salvation but rather as threats to safety and the status quo.&nbsp; The spiritual leaders of Jesus\u2019 time felt that His death was necessary for their \u201csafety\u201d \u2026and \u201cthey were trying to kill Him\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s first reading from the Book of Wisdom supports the plot Jesus later faced:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026the wicked said among themselves, thinking not aright: \u2018<em>Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, reproaches us for transgressions of the Law and charges us with violations of our training.&nbsp; He professes to have knowledge of God and styles himself a child of the Lord.&nbsp; To us he is the censure of our thoughts; merely to see him is a hardship for us, because his life is not like that of others, and different are his ways\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus was a living \u201cthorn-in-the-side\u201d for the wicked spiritual leaders of his day \u2013 \u201c\u2026and they were trying to kill Him\u2026\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century believers, we know that Jesus\u2019 eventual suffering and death on the cross was not the end of His ministry of forgiveness, reconciliation and selfless love, but rather His means to sharing eternal life and salvation for all humankind.&nbsp; My favorite saying from an author of long ago:&nbsp; &nbsp;\u201cGood Friday didn\u2019t spoil the weekend\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are called to grow as Jesus\u2019 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century disciples as helped by Lenten journey, including its griefs and graces.&nbsp; We are invited to be <strong>bold<\/strong> in living out our faith in Jesus.&nbsp; He encourages us to live lives of charity, patience, justice, purity, prayerfulness, and respect for life in all its forms &#8212; combating the force of evil which exists in our 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century world.&nbsp; Jesus leads the way for us, reaching out to us and encouraging us from the wooden beams of His Cross on Calvary\u2026hailed as \u201cThe Tree of Life\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our journey continues in this last half of Lent 2025, pilgrims of hope in and through Jesus Crucified! &nbsp;May these grace-filled days renew us in every way and help motivate us to be credible disciples of Jesus Crucified by our love and service of our sisters and brothers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Holy Founder, St. Paul of the Cross, pray for us!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fr.
