{"id":1892,"date":"2025-04-02T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-03T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2025\/04\/02\/daily-scripture-april-3-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-04-02T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T01:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-april-3-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2025\/04\/02\/daily-scripture-april-3-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, April 3, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Apr-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38177\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/040325.cfm\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/040325.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exodus 32:7-14<br>John 5:31-47<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my teachers once said to me that he found John\u2019s gospel good for meditation and hard to preach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps there is some truth in that, although it is possibly tempered by one\u2019s personal preferences and sense of how one wishes to receive and savour the \u2018good news.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nevertheless, today\u2019s reading from John tends towards an interpretation that favours the \u2018good for meditation\u2019 axis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a rich tapestry of imagery and truth blended together into one of the discourses of Jesus. It has a myriad of \u2018word images\u2019 that nourish our faith and open doors to deeper contemplation and insight into the divine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are invited to contemplate being emissaries who \u2018testify\u2019 to the truth that is Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are invited to contemplate the possibility of seeing ourselves as a burning and shining lamp, albeit one that is far dimmer than the true source of light itself \u2013 Jesus Christ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are invited to contemplate \u2018hearing\u2019 the voice of God, not in any supernatural way, but by listening to the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are invited to contemplate our relationship with Jesus, to \u201ccome to him.\u201d Openly and wholeheartedly in order that we might have life itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are invited to contemplate seeking Jesus above all, above the messages of the witnesses and scriptures that preceded him, and challenged at the same time to believe all that Jesus has revealed to us \u2013 that is, to believe his words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fr.
