{"id":1954,"date":"2025-01-30T21:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2025\/01\/30\/daily-scripture-january-31-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-01-30T21:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T03:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-january-31-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2025\/01\/30\/daily-scripture-january-31-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, January 31, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Jan-31.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-37069\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/013125.cfm\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/013125.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hebrews 10:32-39<br>Mark 4:26-34<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy Friday of the Third Week of in Ordinary Time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I won the lottery!\u00a0 It\u2019s a miracle!<br>No, I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While, from time to time, I have won a few dollars on scratchers, I&#8217;m still waiting to land \u201cThe Big One.\u201d&nbsp; But I\u2019ll tell you what \u2014 if I would win several hundred million dollars, I\u2019d consider it a pretty incredible miracle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s probably common for us all, whenever we think of a \u201cmiracle,\u201d that we envision it as something instant; something which happens suddenly, with flashes of light or explosions.&nbsp; Like winning a large jackpot, a dream miracle like that would be something which would change our lives immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But there\u2019s another kind \u2014 a \u201cslow-motion miracle.\u201d&nbsp; It may not be a one-off, celestial event that is happening right before our eyes.&nbsp; Instead, it might be more the kind in which the miraculous change happens over a period of time.&nbsp; It\u2019s no less marvelous and extraordinary\u2026 it just takes longer for us to recognize it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And no matter which kind, God\u2019s hand is in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In today\u2019s Gospel (Mark 4:26-34), Jesus is teaching in parables, explaining what the Kingdom of God is like.&nbsp; He compares it to a farmer who sows seeds.&nbsp; The miracle is that, night and day, the process of growth begins and continues.&nbsp; No matter if the farmer is awake or asleep, the seed still sprouts and grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He goes on to say, \u201cIt is like a mustard seed, the smallest of all the seeds on the earth, which springs up and becomes the largest of plants.\u201d&nbsp; And that is something, to me, that is certainly miraculous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of life&#8217;s biggest miracles come with patience.&nbsp; Something may happen or someone may say a word or two which \u201cplant a seed\u201d in our minds and hearts, our spirit and soul.&nbsp; Seeds may sprout anywhere in our field, and the kingdom can find its way into our lives that may be surprising.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest surprise, though, is that you and I are also those same sowers of seeds.&nbsp; Even the simple things you or I might say or do can have an enormous influence on others.&nbsp; A passing smile might seem insignificant, but to someone who is hurting, you are the bringer of joy.&nbsp; Imagine if, instead, you had frowned.&nbsp; \u201cHave you ever considered a life in Ministry?\u201d might be the tiny mustard seed, ready to grow into a new Vowed Religious, Priest, or Lay Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God\u2019s seeds of care, compassion, peace, hope, and love are all readily available and primed for planting.&nbsp; He plants them in us, and we are called to then plant them in others.&nbsp; The miracle may not happen in the blink of an eye, but the incredible Garden of the Lord is continually growing, blooming with fragrant flowers and bountiful fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<br>God,<br>even though it can take time for me to recognize,<br>I know your Kingdom is growing,<br>right now,<br>in all our hearts and in all our lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please, help us share your seeds of love,<br>so we can all sprout and grow<br>into your miraculous works of art.
