rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2 Timothy 1:1-8 or Titus 1:1-5<br>Mark 3:22-30<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflexi\u00f3n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our Gospel reading for today, there are some scribes, who, apparently seeing or hearing about Jesus driving out demons, say, \u201cHe is possessed by Beelzebul,\u201d and \u201cBy the prince of demons he drives out demons.\u201d Then Jesus points out the fallacy of those statements: \u201cHow can Satan drive out Satan?\u201d And then, toward the end of our reading, Jesus says, \u201cAmen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the holy Spirit will never have forgiveness but is guilty of an everlasting sin.\u201d And then we hear, \u201cFor they had said, \u2018He has an unclean spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-palette-color-5-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe I\u2019m too caught up with the divisions among us, but I wonder whether we are tempted, instead of thinking, \u201cI need to watch out about blaspheming against the Holy Spirit!\u201d to think, \u201cWhat he\/she\/they said was a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and they should never be forgiven!\u201d In other words, we can be tempted to look for justification for our condemnation of others instead of avoiding condemnation ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m not saying that there isn\u2019t evil being done. There is. I\u2019m not saying that we should not speak up for what is right. We are called to work for justice. What I am saying is that God is the ultimate judge, and the question of condemnation is solely up to God to answer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m not saying that there isn\u2019t evil being done.
