{"id":2719,"date":"2022-11-03T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-04T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2022\/11\/03\/daily-scripture-november-4-2022\/"},"modified":"2022-11-03T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T01:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-november-4-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2022\/11\/03\/daily-scripture-november-4-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, November 4, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Feast of St. Charles Borromeo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/110422.cfm\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/110422.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Philippians 3:17-4:1<br>Luke 16:1-8<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>The Challenge of Stewardship<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Nov-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26392\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s Gospel from Luke recounts Jesus\u2019 parable regarding a \u201cresourceful\u201d steward who at first dishonestly squandered his master\u2019s property, but then prudently tried to save face by dealing with his master\u2019s debtors.&nbsp; Though we might first be appalled at his dishonesty, in his moment of crisis he was decisive and acted quickly to prepare for his future.&nbsp; Jesus highlights the steward\u2019s \u201cgifts\u201d and limitations as a human person \u2013 and encourages us to be faith-filled and zealous in living out our faith in Him as \u201c\u2026children of the light\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">St. Paul\u2019s letter to the Corinthians encourages his followers to imitate his example as a convert-missionary, giving his life to help spread the Good News.&nbsp; Paul\u2019s many gifts, especially his ardent faith, were held up as a prime example to the many people he touched in his journeys; his last words of today\u2019s scripture selection have encouraged many:&nbsp; \u201cTherefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I Iove and long for, my joy and my crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved<em>.\u201d&nbsp; Stand firm in the Lord\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this early November day, we also thank God for the person of St. Charles Borromeo.&nbsp; He was a gifted and zealous steward of the 16<sup>o<\/sup> Century, credited for helping reform and build up the Church in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Bishop and Cardinal, Charles Borromeo encouraged the intellectual and moral growth of clergy and religious, especially by forming new seminaries.&nbsp; He helped author the catechism called for during the Council of Trent; he started the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) for children\u2019s growth in their faith.&nbsp; He held special meetings in his home diocese of Milan, seeking to incorporate the message of the Council of Trent.&nbsp; He reached out to the poor and needy of his day, sacrificing wealth, honor, and influence to serve them \u2013 personally ministering to the sick, the hungry, and the dying.&nbsp; Truly a gifted and zealous man who gave God his all during the 46 years of his life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Good News challenges us today:&nbsp; zealously follow the words and deeds of Jesus; live as faith-filled, active stewards of God\u2019s many gifts; learn from Sts. Paul and Charles Borromeo to share your gifts with the Church today, especially those most in need.&nbsp; The \u201cvalue\u201d of such stewardship:&nbsp; priceless\u2026for ourselves and our world!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fr.
