{"id":2906,"date":"2022-03-30T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2022\/03\/30\/daily-scripture-march-31-2022\/"},"modified":"2022-03-30T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T01:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-march-31-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2022\/03\/30\/daily-scripture-march-31-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, March 31, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Mar-31.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24031\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/033122.cfm\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/033122.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exodus 32:7-14 <br>John 5:31-47<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy Thursday in the Fourth Week of Lent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not rare that I tell the pupils in my private studio that, no matter what, I can help them get better.&nbsp; I don\u2019t know how much it actually has to do with me and my abilities, but one thing\u2019s for sure \u2014 I know I can guide them on a path which, if they do the work, will absolutely make them better musicians.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But, again, even though it\u2019s often very hard, they have to do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not unlike when we become sick.&nbsp; We go to the doctor and, to help us become well again, she\u2019ll likely write a prescription.&nbsp; But if we don\u2019t take the medicine she recommends, we won\u2019t get better.&nbsp; Sure \u2014 the pills may be bitter and hard to swallow, but in the end, our good health becomes a very tasty meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But again, even though it\u2019s hard, we still have to do our part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In today\u2019s Gospel (John 5:31-47), Jesus says, \u201cBut, you do not want to come to me to have life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How often have we, in our humanness, ignored Jesus and attempted to do all things on our own?&nbsp; How many of us search for something which will fill an emptiness in our hearts? I do.&nbsp; If I\u2019m going to be completely honest, I have to admit that way too often I\u2019ve searched and focused on things which fail to satisfy\u2026 It seems to be a human condition, because so many look for joy from things that can never, ever fill us up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wars are fought because people want something&#8230; land, control, whatever\u2026 Relationships are destroyed because of greedy desire and those who decide it\u2019s ok to act on it.&nbsp; People drop into the depths of despair and addiction, looking for something they don\u2019t have, which could be spiritual, emotional, or tangible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Jesus says, \u201cSeek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.\u201d&nbsp; (Matthew 6:33, NLT)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ll be the first to admit that, from time to time, I\u2019ve found myself ignoring God when things are going well.&nbsp; But when something happens that\u2019s not good \u2014 BAM \u2014 I start to pray.&nbsp; I suspect that it\u2019s safe to say that there are many people who will turn to prayer only when something&#8217;s gone wrong, or someone is ill, or is in need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I&#8217;ll also be the first to admit that when I keep a strong, connected relationship with Jesus through prayer, it keeps me grounded when the storms do arise.&nbsp; It helps me to act as a better person, to forgive, to love.&nbsp; Rising from whatever tomb I find myself in at the moment isn\u2019t nearly as impossible as it seems when I let Jesus guide me through what have been the toughest times of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He carries us when we cannot walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know how busy we all are.&nbsp; Believe me.&nbsp; But there are so many opportunities we might overlook\u2026&nbsp; What about driving in traffic, or perhaps while we do our work?&nbsp; What about praying before our meal in a restaurant, even though everyone can see?&nbsp; Even pulling weeds or doing our laundry can be beautiful if we can remember we are accompanied by Christ in every step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are never alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Jesus, hold our hand. <br>Show us the true path to you&#8230; <br>to life \u2014 to love.
