(Seeking Our God: A Journey in Seeking Jesus James3:13-18 by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/seekingourgod.com\/author\/taylor-matthew-n\/\">taylor.matthew.n<\/a> July 2, 2020?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How would you grade yourself in consistently living these four elements of living wisdom?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Gospel reading Jesus and his three disciples leave the Mount of Transfiguration and on the way down encounter an epileptic boy.&nbsp; The father is desperate because the child is now throwing himself in to fire and water.&nbsp; The disciples who did not go with Jesus, Peter, James and John are unable to exorcise the evil spirit and heal the boy.&nbsp; The father says to Jesus <em>\u201c\u2026if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.&nbsp; Jesus said to him, \u201c If you can!\u2019 Everything is possible to one who has faith.\u201d<\/em> (Mark 9:22-23)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examine the quote in italics and notice the use of the word \u201cif\u201d which showed the father\u2019s doubt. How many times do we have those \u201cif\u201d moments doubting whether God will hear us and come through for us? Read the first italicized line again and this time strike the word \u2018if\u201d.&nbsp; It now reads \u201cyou can do anything.\u201d&nbsp; Is our faith a \u201ccan do anything\u201d faith with God\u2019s power and grace.&nbsp; \u201cLord, I do believe, help my unbelief!
