{"id":3011,"date":"2021-12-03T21:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wiga5ubklx.wpdns.site\/2021\/12\/03\/daily-scripture-december-4-2021\/"},"modified":"2021-12-03T21:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-12-04T03:00:00","slug":"daily-scripture-december-4-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionist.org\/es\/2021\/12\/03\/daily-scripture-december-4-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Scripture, December 4, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/passionist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Dec-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22584\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scripture:<br><br><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/120421.cfm\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/120421.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Isaiah 30:19-21,23-26  <br>Matthew 9:35 \u2013 10:2,5,6-8<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Faith, Life, Love \u2026 Treasured and Shared<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s Advent Gospel presents a touching scene:&nbsp; Jesus moves among the towns and villages, teaching, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, curing disease and illness.&nbsp; To underscore just how personally involved Jesus was in this ministry, Matthew writes that Jesus\u2019 \u201c\u2026heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.\u201d&nbsp; The troubled, the abandoned, the lonely, the wanderers\u2026Jesus had come into the world as God\u2019s gift to such people &#8212; people like us centuries later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus then spoke to his disciples about the abundant harvest of souls and called them to share his authority and help continue his mission:&nbsp; to proclaim that \u201cthe Kingdom of heaven is at hand\u201d and back up the words with action on behalf of those in need.&nbsp; The final words of Jesus cited in today\u2019s Gospel are especially encouraging: \u201c\u2026without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.\u201d&nbsp; God has freely given us faith in Jesus, and this gift is to be freely shared\u2026shared with the same intensity that \u201cmoved\u201d Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gift of faith is so different than the material gifts that draw our attention this Christmas season.&nbsp; If you give someone a gift of money, you necessarily have less money yourself.&nbsp; However, if you give someone the gift of faith, you not only do not have less &#8212; but you really have more!&nbsp; To grow in our Christian life, we must share our faith with others\u2026families, coworkers, neighbors, even the \u201cstranger\u201d we meet while holiday shopping.&nbsp; Our words, our good example, our interest in people \u2013 rising from our faith &#8212; speak volumes and make real the person of Jesus who loves us all unconditionally.&nbsp; Faith shared is faith on-the-grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advent is a time of hope, of anticipation, growth, and celebration \u2013 the gift of Jesus\u2019 life and love are so real these days as Advent moves us to the celebration of Christmas!&nbsp; May we make Jesus\u2019 clarion call our own:&nbsp; the Kingdom is at hand!&nbsp; May we be faith-moved to greater care for our sisters and brothers, especially those in special need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fr.
