A Passionist Prayer
November 16, 2019
from St. Paul of the Cross
"When that Sister does not accept you and does not come into your room anymore, you may feel some resentment. But don’t let this disturb you. It is not a sin. Do your best to have compassion on her, to speak to her with kindness and to look at her in the Side of Jesus Christ."
Lord, sometimes I wonder if in loving our neighbors we must always like them as well. I often feel I am failing at getting along well with my neighbors. Increase my patience and kindness towards others. Help me to approach new people with an open mind and heart. Have mercy and understanding for me when I may not love my neighbor perfectly. Teach me to be more accepting of the differences I may have with my friends. Let me show others the same compassion that you have for me. Let me always remember that all children are created in the image and likeness of God.

Dia de los Muertos...
This year, Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center added “un altarcito del Dia de los Muertos” to commemorate those Passionists and loved ones who have died over the years. They honored our founder and our Passionist saints using the triptych that is being used for the 300 year celebration of our Congregation. Most of the Passionist memorial cards were of Passionists who lived and ministered at Mater Dolorosa over the last 50 years.
