Twelve young adults gathered in Toronto for the second annual Passionist Solidarity Retreat, exploring how faith, care for creation and service connect with their everyday lives.

The second annual Passionist Solidarity Retreat for Young Adults took place October 2–4 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Toronto, Ontario, bringing together 12 young adults for a weekend of reflection, prayer and community.

Participants shared their hopes and struggles while exploring what it means to be Christian and Catholic in 2026. They considered the Passionist charism and its connection to their own lives, making room for the deeper questions these conversations raised.

The group also explored the ecological spirituality of Fr. Thomas Berry, CP, and how it finds expression in the worship space at St. Gabriel’s. They reflected on what service looks like “on the ground” in the heart of a large North American city.

The weekend included a beautiful Friday evening prayer remembering the feast of the Guardian Angels. On Sunday, participants joined the parish for the Eucharist and the Blessing of Animals in celebration of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The retreat concluded with a shared commitment to return next year—and for each participant to bring a friend.
