1. Father Carl Schmitz, was my uncle. He was a man of peace.

   • My parents used to work for Father Carl. I remember everything the night it happened, I was around 10-11 years old. My mother and I were the ones who washed his robe after he was embalmed—I remember my mother’s hands were burnt from the formaline left on the fabric. She cried for hours on the steps he died in. She was the one to prepare his food every morning, taking me with her as she did so. I remember it being oatmeal; the only food he eats at morning.
