The Our Father is one of the simplest and most familiar prayers. Yet within it lies a profound challenge.

We are called to give glory and praise not to ourselves but to God. If we do so, day by day, through our thoughts, words, intentions, and actions, we will experience a happiness and fulfillment that we could never have given ourselves.

There are no human words that will persuade us to love our enemies the way Jesus loved his enemies and gave up his life for them.

Our Psalm offers us beautiful words (psalm, 5), “Lord, listen to my groaning. help me realize your sacrifice for me and be mindful to forgive others.

Matthew’s Gospel reminds us that the Kingdom of Heaven is "at hand." This means God’s presence is not just a far-off promise; it just might be something within easy reach whenever we need it.

“Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.” 

Jesus’ Sacred Heart is full of love for us. May His love fill our hearts and overflow into the world.

It might be comforting to read that the Jerusalem leadership sent Barnabas to Antioch to encourage and validate the new and exciting expansion of the Jesus movement there.

Just as Jesus did, we need to balance the necessity and value of rightful laws and authority with the equal necessity for compassion, acceptance, and love.

We are invited to transform the world by throwing light where there is shadow and sharing the nourishment that Christ gives.
