Today we rejoice with two of our Passionist priests who are celebrating 50 years of service to the church and their religious community.

The centurion also teaches us humility. Though he was a powerful officer, he recognized his need for Jesus.

Jesus gives us another example of how we can turn sadness into hope and joy as found in the gospel today. 

“Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or naked…?” And Jesus responds, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me.”

"John is his name.” Today, we remember the birth of Saint John the Baptist. 

The “narrow gate” is love and compassion and forgiveness, justice and peace. May we always seek guidance and help and grace to find and enter through the “narrow” gate. 

Today, let us ask for the grace of a humble heart—one that recognizes its own limitations and extends to others the same tenderness and mercy that Christ continually offers us.

Jesus is trying to assure us that we are deeply loved and protected by God. 

What truth are you avoiding because it would ask too much of you?

We must equip ourselves with God's Word, seek the truth, and keep our eyes fixed on Him.
