I should spend more time at God’s altar, where I can look beyond myself and raise my concern for others, familiar and unfamiliar.

Thank you, God, for all the gifts you give me today and help me connect with all the beautiful gifts you present me each day.

They recognized the error of their ways only to descend and shift to a wall that gave them the consolation of living their authentic self, a self totally dependent on God.

He is Emanuel, “God With Us,” who has come to share in all that we must bear as creatures on this Earth.

God’s love is fresh, new, abundant; God is forgiving, generous, loving.  Jesus challenges them to “think outside the box”.

While faith is not a matter of ‘proofs’ being available, nevertheless, Thomas helps us (as does the traditional story) to see the intimate and necessary connection between the Passion and the new life of Resurrection.

“The universe is composed of subjects to be communed with, Not [a collection] of objects to be used.”

Both readings ask whether we are willing to let justice and mercy reshape our lives, even when doing so disturbs our comfort, our routine, or our security.

As apostles of Jesus, do we have little faith because we call on Him only in times of crisis?  Do we fail to recognize that He is with us and on our journey at every moment? 

Summer has begun and as the hours of sunlight now lessen each day, we celebrate two great men of the Church, Saints Peter and Paul.
