Recently, thousands of Catholic faithful took to the streets of San Francisco for the 22nd year for the Walk for Life West Coast.
This public display of support for life and protection of the most vulnerable in our society, the unborn, is the single most visible effort for a change in the hearts and minds of those supporting or considering an abortion. Parishioners from Catholic parishes all over California send bus loads of their members to participate.
My parish, Holy Trinity, in El Dorado Hills is no exception. To help our participants ready themselves before they get on the bus at 8:00 AM for the two hour trip to San Francisco., our Confirmation candidates were up at 5:00 a.m. to prepare breakfast burritos and drinks.
Both the folks walking in San Francisco and the Confirmation teens showed the selflessness that our Lord invites us to practice this Lenten season.
May we follow more closely the example Jesus shows us, as we walk the path toward Golgotha with Him.
