The Passionist Family is blessed with two vibrant communities of women who live out the charism of St. Paul of the Cross in distinct but deeply connected ways.
Passionist Nuns

The Passionist Nuns live a cloistered, contemplative life rooted in the Passion of Jesus. Founded by St. Paul of the Cross in 1771, their mission is one of prayer, silence and intercession for a suffering world.
Though apart from the world, they are deeply connected to it—praying daily for the Church, for peace and for those who reach out in need. Their quiet witness reminds us that compassion, rooted in prayer, can change the world.
Sisters of the Cross & Passion

The Sisters of the Cross and Passion live out the Passionist charism through active ministry in education, social justice, parish work and spiritual care.
Founded in 1852 by Elizabeth Prout in England, they are committed to walking with those on the margins, especially the poor and vulnerable. Their life of prayer and community fuels their mission to make Christ’s love known through compassionate service.
