Prayer for Nepal & Tibet

God of compassion and hope,

We hold in prayer the people of Nepal and Tibet in the wake of devastating floods.

Receive into your loving embrace all those who have lost their lives. Be near to the many who are still missing, and comfort their families and loved ones who wait in fear and uncertainty.

Draw close to those who mourn, and all whose lives have been changed by this tragedy. Strengthen those who offer help and comfort, bring healing to wounded communities, renewal to the land and hope in the midst of sorrow.

In the suffering of our sisters and brothers, help us recognize the Passion of Jesus. In the wounds of Earth, awaken in us a deeper love for our common home.

May we hear the cries of Earth and the cries of the poor, and respond with compassion, solidarity and care for one another and all creation.
