Sweetness from the Cross

Lord, help me to seek the gifts that come from carrying my earthly cross. Let my trials breed in me love, patience, strength, modesty, fortitude and serenity. Forgive me for focusing my attention on the suffering, pain and sadness that comes with bearing my cross. Let it instead feed my spirit with your grace. May I always see the divine wisdom in these challenges. Build my faith and trust even when I do not understand your plan. Let me grow ever closer to you as I seek to live by your will.
