Loving God’s Will in Trials

Dear Lord, when you faced your most excruciating trial, you asked your Father to take the cup from you—but only if that was his Will. The truth is, I want you to take my trials from me and I pray that such trials will be quick and not leave me with any pain in my life. I know this is not realistic. I know all Christians must share in the Passion of Christ Crucified. Forgive me for not embracing the suffering that comes into my life. Let me know that all my trials have a greater purpose. Let me be filled with your love and strength and find peace even in the midst of suffering.
