International Day of Older Persons: A Life of Service Met with a Life of Care

Today is the U.N. International Day of Older Persons, which highlights the transformative role older persons play in building resilient and equitable societies.

Far from being passive beneficiaries, older persons are drivers of progress, contributing their knowledge and experience.

For our senior Passionists, a life of service is met with a life of care. As our vowed members grow older, they are lovingly supported in an environment rooted in community and spiritual life at Sacred Heart Monastery. Here, elder Passionists continue to offer their wisdom and presence, participating in daily prayer, spiritual reflection and community gatherings at their own pace.

After a lifetime of walking with others in suffering and hope, their presence enriches our mission, reminding us daily that the Passion of Christ is not only remembered, but lived.
