Compassion for difficult neighbors

Lord, sometimes I wonder if in loving our neighbors we must always like them as well. I often feel I am failing at getting along well with my neighbors. 

Increase my patience and kindness towards others. 
Help me to approach new people with an open mind and heart. 
Have mercy and understanding for me when I may not love my neighbor perfectly. 

Teach me to be more accepting of the differences I may have with my friends. 

Let me show others the same compassion that you have for me.  Let me always remember that all children are created in the image and likeness of God.
