Childlike Wonder in Prayer

Lord, help me to know you better. I remember the openness and wonder I felt in prayer to you when I was child. Help me to recapture some of that childlike sense of awe. When I was little, perhaps I knew less about the world, and so I came to you with greater hope.

Now, I feel so burdened by what I have seen in the world—the suffering and destruction.

Help me to remember that you are far greater than any earthly suffering. Let me remember the immensity of your love and open myself to that intense healing each time I come to you in prayer.
