Bold Love for a Suffering World

Today’s Lenten reflection is from Fr. John Schork, CP, on the meaning of discipleship, grounded in a communal experience of faith.

St. Paul of the Cross sets the renewal pace for us these Lenten days.  Many people of his time and our time suffer in a variety of ways, with illness and fear and poverty and injustice — while others are unconcerned, in their own worlds.

Paul gathered companions to prayerfully live together and then boldly proclaim God’s love for suffering humanity in the Passion of Jesus.

The need is no less critical today: our sisters and brothers call out for our loving concern as they today deal with their “crosses”.

This Lent, we boldly respond as the Passionist Family, guided by the Holy Spirit and following the Passionist Way.

There is hope and strength and action in our life together! Together, we awake the world from its slumber, in and through Jesus Crucified.
