St. Mary’s Passionist Parish in Fairfield, Alabama has been an inspiration to all of us in the ways in which they have acted to protect God’s Creation for over 30 years! From celebrating one of the first Green Masses, honoring St. Francis of Assisi and local environmental organizations, to hosting Earth Day Movie Sunday and Severe Weather Awareness Day, St. Mary’s has consistently responded with compassion and creativity to the cry of the poor and the cry of Earth.

Now, we are proud to announce that on his 70th birthday, John Meehan, chair of the St. Mary’s Social Action Ministry, has been honored with a resolution from the Alabama State Senate for his many years of service as a community activist.
