Speaking with Compassion

Lord, I know how much it hurts me when others treat me harshly.  Yet, in the heat of anger, I often speak cruelly even to people I care about.  Teach me sympathy and compassion.  Let me always consider other people’s feelings before I speak unkindly.  Help me to keep the memory of your Passion alive in my heart so that I might be reminded of how much I am loved.  Let me pour that love out to my neighbors.
