From Noon to 3:00 pm. Those sacred hours that Jesus hung upon the cross.
Today on this Lenten Friday, we pray.
For Passionists, discipleship is consistently defined as following Christ crucified, not avoiding difficulty or suffering. Paraphrasing St. Paul of the Cross, “Do not desire to be anything but what God wills you to be, and you will be a true disciple of Jesus crucified.”
God of faithful love, in this season of Lent strengthen us to follow your Son with honest hearts and steady courage. When the path of discipleship becomes narrow or costly, free us from the temptation to look back or choose what is easier.
Shape our lives so that we seek not our own designs but your will, trusting that your grace will sustain us. Teach us to carry the cross together, supporting one another when faithfulness feels heavy.
Through this Lenten journey, form us as true disciples of Jesus crucified, open to transformation and new life.
