Prayer for Laborers

Loving God, we pray for all laborers.

We remember all those who work, whether they labor at home, at an office, at a factory, or in service industries.

We pray for those looking for work, and for those who are about to give up looking.

We pray for others who are discerning what kind of work they ought to do.

Our Creator, help us remember there is dignity in labor, especially in these times when the advancement of technology challenges us to reconsider the nature of work.

Whatever form labor takes in the future, may there be just wages for honest labor;

may the health of workers and the health of creation always be priorities.

Lord, help us to come together to do the work You have called us to do; sharing Your love and mercy in Jesus Christ.

As the Psalmist says, “Bless the work of our hands,” and hearts and minds.
