With today's readings, let us settle our thoughts and focus on our journey through Holy Week. 

Today we begin the journey of Holy Week with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

So, as this season of Lent comes to a close, I like to think I have prepared sufficiently through my time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving to walk alongside my friend Jesus as he prepares to suffer and die for me. 

There, in the breaking of the bread, Christ gives us the grace to make our works match what we profess to believe.

Let’s take Jesus seriously, reflect ever more deeply on his mission and mandate to us, and follow his teachings even if they lead to the cross.

"Let it be done unto me according to your word."

During this Lenten season we are called to put aside our self-centered ways.  We are called to look in the mirror and see ourselves as God sees us.

“Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

But over time I came to understand something that today’s Gospel reveals with great power: God does not abandon His children in the darkness of the tomb.

Do we allow the uncharitable remarks of others to impede the sharing of our faith with others?
