Conquering the Self

Lord, sometimes I find myself gossiping. It seems like it’s all around me. Help me to protect and respect the dignity of myself and others by refraining from hurtful words. Let me always remember how painful such words can be. Help me to always speak the truth and to know when not to speak. May the Holy Spirit guide me in thought, word and deed always.
