Finding God in Suffering

Dear Lord, I am a terrible patient.  I spend so much energy fighting any afflictions that I suffer instead of trying to find peace in them.  Help me in these times, let my thoughts be always of you.  I want to see and believe in the great value of such suffering as a call to be with you on the cross.  Give me the grace to appreciate the intimacy of such experiences, and let me use such trials as opportunities to grow closer to you.
