Kindness in the Face of Cruelty

Lord, I thought that nasty behavior would be left on the playground as I grew up. Instead, I have continued to find many people who do not have love in their heart for their neighbors. Give me the courage to continue to always act with kindness and compassion, even though I may be hurting from the cruelty of others. Forgive me for feeling animosity towards those who may be less than considerate. Let me instead always look for the goodness in others. Teach me to love as you did, even in the face of great unkindness.
