Loving Attention in Spiritual Dryness

Lord, sometimes I come to you in prayer and I am lost. These are trying times. And I am finding it difficult to be prayerful. As the stresses of my daily life grow, I find myself distracted and discouraged in my faith life. Help me to trust that I can come to you when my heart feels empty, and that you will be present even in the silence. Forgive me for forgetting that just being in your midst heals me. Give me the patience to remain with you and the strength to find interior calm and tranquility, even when the world around me continues to rob me of my peace.
