Peace in God’s Consolation

Lord, help me to remember that you want me to be happy. I try so hard to accept the difficult lessons of suffering in my life that I forget your holy will doesn’t have to involve pain and difficulty. You are the greatest source of comfort, solace and encouragement in my life. Yet I continue to look to the superficial world around me for reassurance when I know you are the foundation for peace in my life. Teach me to open myself up not only to the challenges that your Will may hold for me, but for the consolation and contentment that springs from your love and mercy.
