Strength to Be Remade Through Pain

Dear Lord, How much I want to distract myself from those things that hurt me! It is painful, and I am afraid of that pain, so I try to numb myself in a variety of ways. Come to my heart, Jesus, and give me strength to be destroyed as I am so that I may be reborn to who you want me to be.
