As Hurricane Melissa moves through the Caribbean, we hold in prayer all those in the path of the storm, especially our brothers and sisters in vulnerable regions. We remember with special care Fr. Rick Frechette, CP, and the Passionist communities in Haiti and Jamaica, who continue to serve courageously amid hardship and uncertainty.
May God’s mercy shield all who face danger, strengthen those who bring aid, and give peace to hearts filled with fear.

Prayer for Protection During a Hurricane
God of mercy and power,
as storms approach and winds begin to rise,
we pray for all who stand in harm’s way,
for families, the elderly, the poor and the afraid.
Protect our Passionist communities and all who serve in your name.
Strengthen them to bring comfort, hope and protection
to those who suffer and those who help.
Calm the storm within and around us.
When the winds have passed,
guide our hearts and hands to rebuild with faith, courage and love.
Through Christ our Lord.
