One Gift, One Grateful Heart at a Time

Today’s Lenten reflection is from Angie Kwasinski on the meaning of almsgiving, grounded in a communal experience of faith.

In our life as a Passionist community, we have come to understand almsgiving as a shared response to the compassionate love revealed in the Passion of Jesus.

Sharing our gifts is more than an act of generosity; it is a way of standing together at the foot of the Cross, in solidarity with those who suffer.

Through almsgiving, we witnessed how donors became true partners in the Passionist mission, sharing not only their resources but their faith and hope. Each gift was offered prayerfully, connecting giver and receiver in a bond of compassion and trust.

Through this collaboration, we experienced how community is strengthened and the memory of the Passion is kept alive one gift and one grateful heart at a time.

Almsgiving, then, became a living expression of who we are and how we are called to love.
