The hand of the Lord was with them and a great number who believed, turned to the Lord.

Reflection

The Acts of the Apostles continues to pour forth the good news of the growth of the early church in these post-resurrection times.  The apostles are busy preaching, teaching, baptizing, curing the sick and spreading the message of Jesus Christ!

The hand of the Lord was with them and a great number who believed, turned to the Lord.

We have reason to rejoice, as record numbers of neophytes have been welcomed into Catholic communities all over the country on Easter weekend 2026!  Even as we celebrate this Fourth Week of Easter, we continue to see untold amounts of photos and news on social media from all over the country that show the genuine joy of our newly baptized and professed sisters and brothers as they begin this new life in Christ. It is even more rewarding to hear them share their experience of this new life.

In our parish, it was a profound experience for all of us in OCIA leadership to have walked with our candidates and catechumens during the past year on this journey leading up to the celebration of the Easter sacraments on Holy Saturday! OCIA is such a life-changing experience for everyone involved, and it doesn’t end on Holy Saturday!  We rejoice with all neophytes the world over and feel blessed to be a part of a growing faith community that isn’t afraid to proclaim and witness the good news that

Jesus Christ has risen and is here in our midst!  Alleluia!

There isn’t a more hope-filled message that we could ask for as we continue to walk in faith through these challenging days!  The tomb is open!!  Let us rejoice and be glad!

Happy Easter!
