The Passionist Earth & Spirit Center is excited to announce a new season of leadership to include co- executive directors: Cory Lockhart and Edie Wooton.
In this new organizational ecosystem Cory will focus on Mission + Engagement and Edie on Operations + Organizational Sustainability. Both are eager to continue working to bring mindful awakening, compassionate justice, and care for the Earth to our community in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Cory has been the Retreat Director at the center since July 2025. Prior to that she had taught classes and been a part of Camp Odyssey at PESC. Cory’s experience includes over 3 decades of teaching and facilitating locally, nationally, and internationally; curriculum and program development for diverse constituencies on topics such as social justice, compassion, nonviolence, and mindfulness; and participation in social actions aimed at creating a more just and peaceful world. Cory looks forward to nurturing relationships with those who’ve been connected to PESC for many years and building new connections with individuals and community partners seeking to be nourished and challenged through practices of community, awakening, and service.
Edie joined PESC in May 2025 as a contract grant writer and transitioned into the role of Communications and Outreach Director in October of the same year. She brings more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a deep understanding of its challenges and opportunities and extensive expertise in fundraising, grant development, fiscal management, communications, and community outreach. Edie’s established relationships with foundation representatives, government agencies, and community organizations further strengthen her ability to build meaningful partnerships, expand PESC’s reach, and advance its mission.
This collaborative leadership model brings together two complementary areas of community focus and provides shared leadership to ensure both depth of vision and strength of mission. We believe this co-directorship is an internal expression of our vision of “a single, sacred Earth community in which all members flourish.”
