Share Our Gifts: Putting Our Passionist Charism into Action

Through Share Our Gifts, Passionist alumni, funded a new convent and chapel for the Passionist Sisters in Agua Prieta, Mexico, creating a welcoming home for prayer, community life and their ministry.

The gifts we receive are not meant to end with us.  They are meant to be shared.

That belief is at the heart of Share Our Gifts, an initiative of the Passionist Alumni Association that brings alumni, families, and friends together to support Passionist ministries serving people in need.

Inspired by the Gospel call to hear the cry of the poor and respond with compassion, we seek to put our Passionist charism into action through prayer, service, and financial generosity.

Just as importantly, we believe in building personal connections with the people and communities we support. Their faith, courage, and hope enrich our lives as much as our support enriches theirs.

Making a Difference Together

Through the generosity of alumni, families, and friends, Share Our Gifts has raised $175,000 to support Passionist ministries.

One recent accomplishment was funding the construction of a new convent for the Passionist Sisters serving Colegio Guadalupe Pasionista in Agua Prieta, Mexico.

Six members of our community recently joined the sisters, the Bishop of Nogales, local priests, and other religious at the dedication of their new home.

Where they once lived in a dilapidated trailer, it has been replaced by a modest but comfortable four-bedroom residence and chapel, much more suitable for community life, prayer, and the important ministry they share with the people they serve.

Our Next Mission: Supporting Haiti

Now our attention turns to Haiti, where we are working to raise $60,000 in support of Fr. Rick Frechette, CP.

As gang violence continues to devastate communities, countless children and families have been forced from their homes, leaving them displaced and struggling to meet even their most basic needs.

Our gifts will help provide emergency food, children’s support services and essential supplies for these displaced children and families. These resources offer practical assistance, or as Fr. Rick says, some “scaffolding” for their broken lives and a reminder that they have not been forgotten.

A Community That Continues to Give

Share Our Gifts is more than a fundraising initiative.  It is an expression of the community we experienced during our formative years as Passionist students and of the values that continue to unite us today.

We invite the wider Passionist Family—alumni, families, friends, and companions—to join us. Your prayers and financial support can help sustain this important work.

Together, we can continue to share the gifts we have received.
