Comfort in the Promise of Resurrection

Lord, I know that grief is natural. Help me to remember that even you experienced grief in your life on earth. But sometimes I think that the heartache from the death of a loved one is something I will never conquer. My sorrow often overwhelms me. Forgive me for this lack of faith. I know that this mourning is about my loss and that I should feel great joy and contentment at the knowledge that those I love who so loved you are enjoying eternal life. When such sadness threatens to overcome me, let this be my comfort—that those I have lost are at peace.
