Contentment in everyday crosses

Lord, all my life I have faithfully followed the penances of fasting on certain days and giving up something during Lent. The truth is that these things don’t even seem like sacrifices anymore. When I am truly tested with sacrifice—when I endure difficulties and sufferings and even the smaller unpleasant tasks of daily life that often get me down—in these instances I often fail. I am sullen and discontent and want such experiences to pass quickly. Help me to find the good in these times. Teach me to offer up these challenges for a greater good.  Bless me with acceptance of such suffering and show me how I can transform such experiences in my life.
