Freedom from dwelling on sin

Dear Jesus, I am often distracted during prayer by thoughts of my mistakes and failings. I try to focus on your presence in my life and your great love for me. But I find myself dwelling on my unworthiness, and this keeps me from fully meeting you in prayer. Help me to look at my words and actions without giving all my attention to my sins. Guide me in my spiritual journey and help me to center my heart on you, your mercy and your love.
