Patience and Love in Sickness

Lord, I know that in the suffering of sickness and death there are great and profound lessons to be learned about love, endurance and trust in your divine grace. Forgive me when I do not see these lessons. When someone I love is suffering, I often focus solely on what I think seems unfair and the pain of watching someone I care about struggle. Help me to be strong, to see the good in such suffering. Help me find the courage, peace and resolve within me to grow in faith. Help me to transcend the pain of earthly suffering so that I may grow ever closer to you.
